While TikTok has not officially revealed the numbers, various reports on the internet believe that it takes at least 10 reports for TikTok to look into the account.
If the account is found to be doing anything that violates TikTok’s rule, the account will be banned. TikTok has been strictly following the rules as a result hundreds of accounts are banned on a daily basis. Initially, when TikTok was on the rise, the rules were not so strict and were not implemented effectively. But, later on, as the TikTok started becoming so popular, the number of complaints on TikTok also saw an uprise. This reason was many users were uploading videos that were not beneficial for society like nudity, hate, etc.
TikTok then took the complaints into account and started banning accounts on a big scale that were violating the rules. The rate at which TikTok has gone viral is insane. Even after getting banned in India, where a large chunk of people were using the app, the video-sharing platform still has over 1 billion monthly active users. You’ll be surprised to see that it’s around 20.83% of the total internet users worldwide.
In a nutshell, there is no guarantee that TikTok will ban the account you have reported, unless TikTok thinks that it is violating any of its rules. If multiple people are reporting an account or a video, folks at TikTok will think that there is something wrong with this video or account. They will then thoroughly check the account and if anything is found to be unethical or against TikTok’s rule, either TikTok will warn that account or the account will be banned.
