In this step-by-step guide, I’ll reveal easy solutions to download private videos from Telegram. Whether you can’t download private videos from a channel or group, we’ve got you covered.

Telegram channel administrators have the option to restrict users from saving the content. If you can’t download the video, photo, or any other file, it’s because of this restriction on the channel. But there are ways to bypass it.

Download Private Telegram Videos on Android / iPhone

If you have an Android or iPhone, there’s an easy workaround to download private videos from Telegram.

Method 1: Download Private Telegram Videos Using a Telegram Bot

Using the Save Restricted Content bot, you can easily download private/restricted videos from Telegram groups or channels.

I’m using an Android phone for the screenshots, but the same steps apply to iPhones as well.

Step 1: Add Save Restricted Content bot to your Telegram.

Step 2: Join the Save Restricted Content channel. [Required]

Step 3: Send the private channel invite link. The bot is required to access the channel. (Note: skip this step for public channels).

Step 4: Open the Telegram channel/group, tap on the three-dot icon on the video, and click Copy Link.

Step 5: Paste the video link to the Save Restricted Content bot.

Step 6: Wait for a few seconds. It will send you the video. Click the three-dot icon and tap Save to Gallery.

The video has been saved to your gallery. You can watch it anytime, even if the Telegram channel/group removes it.

[Note: This Save Restricted Content bot gives you limited access. You can only download a few videos every day. If you want to download multiple videos, use method #2.]

Method 2: Download Private Telegram Videos Using a File Manager (For Android)

Here’s a quick fun fact: The video you’re trying to download is already downloaded to your device. But it’s hidden somewhere on your device, which you can easily find using the following steps.

Step 1: Download and install Mi File Manager from the Google Play Store.

Step 2: Launch the app and allow necessary permissions.

Step 3: Go to the Files tab and tap on Android. [If you can’t see the Android folder, tap the three-dot icon and select Show hidden files.]

Step 4: Tap on Data and click View in Files.

Step 5: Go to Android -> data -> org.telegram.messenger.

Step 6: Tap on files -> Telegram -> Telegram Video.

You have found all hidden Telegram videos, including those private ones. To see them in the gallery, move them to a different folder.

Download Private Telegram Videos on PC

Downloading private videos from Telegram on a PC is even easier than downloading them on a smartphone.

Method 1: Download Private Telegram Videos Using a Chrome Extension
