How to Download Videos From Private Telegram Channel [2 Ways]
While uploading and downloading videos on Telegram is smooth and easy, users are having issues downloading videos from private Telegram channels. In this guide, we’ll tell you how to download videos from a private Telegram channel.
Telegram does not put any limit on how many files you can upload on the platform as long as the file size is within the limits: 2GB for free users and 4GB for premium users. Because of Telegram’s generosity, there’s a huge amount of file sharing that goes on the platform. All types of content are available on Telegram. You only need to find the right group or channel. Most of the time, you’ll find the content in public channels, but sometimes you’ll require access to a private channel.
Telegram channel administrators have the option to restrict users from saving the content. If you can’t download the video, photo, or any other file, it’s because of this restriction on the channel. But, there are ways to bypass it.

In this guide, I have shared 2 methods to download private/restricted Telegram videos. But, if you want to download non-restricted videos, you can do it using 3 method shared in this post.
2 Ways to Download Videos From Private Telegram Channel
There’s an easy way to bypass the restriction applied by the administrator preventing you from downloading the videos. Just follow the steps below and save all videos to your gallery.
Method 1: Using a Telegram Bot
Bots are one of the most important features of Telegram. Using the right bots allows you to enjoy Telegram at its best. Here, we will be using the Save Restricted Content bot to download videos from private Telegram channels.
Step 1: Add Save Restricted Content bot to your Telegram.
Step 2: Join the Save Restricted Content channel. [Required]
Step 3: Send the private channel invite link. It is required for the bot to access the channel. Not required for public channels.
Step 4: Go to the Telegram channel and copy the post link. On Android, tap on the three-dot icon on the video and click Copy Link. Windows users can right-click on the video and click Copy Post Link.
Step 5: Go to the Save Restricted Content bot and paste the link.
Step 6: Wait for a few seconds. It will send you the video. Click the three-dot icon and tap Save to Gallery.
The video is now saved to your device gallery.
Method 2: Using a File Manager
Whether or not the video is restricted from saving on your device, Telegram will still download the video. But, the video won’t be saved to your gallery. Instead, it will be saved to a hidden folder. By accessing the hidden files on your device, you can access the video and move it to another location.
Here’s how to do it:
Step 1: Download and install Mi File Manager from the Google Play Store.
Step 2: Launch the app and allow necessary permissions.
Step 3: Go to the Files tab and tap on Android. [If you can’t see the Android folder, tap on the three-dot icon and select Show hidden files.]
Step 4: Tap on Data. [On newer Android versions, you can’t directly access the Data folder.] Tap on View in Files.
Step 5: Go to Android -> data -> org.telegram.messenger.
Step 6: Tap on files -> Telegram -> Telegram Video.
You can see all Telegram videos which are not saved to your gallery. You can move the video to another location for easy access.
