7 Ways to Fix if TP-Link Archer AX21 Is Not Connecting to the Internet

Here are some effective solutions to fix the no internet connection issue on your TP-Link router. Let’s begin our troubleshooting.

1. Check the WAN and LAN Ports

Often the issue with the internet connection is linked to a loose WAN or LAN cable connection. Make sure the LAN and WAN cables are firmly connected to the router.

Simply unplug the cable and push it to the right section of your TP-Link router. Once it’s done, connect your device to the Wi-Fi and check if you can access the internet.

2. Power Cycle Your Modem and Router

A power cycle is an effective solution to fix common issues with your router. It can also fix the no internet connection issue on your TP-Link Archer AX21.

Here are the steps to follow:

  1. Turn off your TP-Link router and the modem.
  2. Wait for a minute.
  3. Power on your modem and wait for at least 2 minutes.
  4. Turn on your TP-Link router.
  5. Wait for 2 more minutes until the router successfully boots up and connects to the internet.

Check if you can access the internet. If yes, awesome! However, if the problem persists, try other troubleshooting methods we’ve mentioned below.

3. Double Check Internet Connection Details

If you have just finished setting up your new TP-Link router and can’t access the internet, perhaps the internet connection details are incorrect.

  1. Connect to your Wi-Fi network.
  2. Go to tplinkwifi.net and go to Advanced.
  3. Tap on Network and click Internet.
  4. Select the correct Internet Connection Type. If you’re not sure about it, contact your ISP.
  5. Ask your ISP for internet connection details and cross-check with what you’ve entered.

If your router was working before, you do not need to apply this solution. Move on to the next one.

4. Move Closer to the Router

A router is a short-range device that can cover a specific portion of your home or office. If you are far away from the router, you might be unable to access to the internet.

Try moving closer to the router and check if you can access the internet.

Still can’t access the internet? try changing the DNS server as mentioned in the next solution.

5. Configure the DNS Server

The default DNS values could be causing the no internet connection. Try changing the DNS server and do let us know if this solution works for you.

  • Connect to your Wi-Fi and go to tplinkwifi.net.
  • Go to Advanced -> Network -> Internet.
  • Tap on Advanced Settings.
  • Click the dropdown next to DNS Address and select Use the Following DNS Addresses.
  • Set the Primary DNS to 8.8.8.8 and the Secondary DNS to 8.8.4.4.
  • Click Save.

6. Clone/Reset Mac Address

If your TP-Link Archer AX21 has no internet connection, try cloning the current device’s MAC address.

Here’s how it’s done:

  1. Connect to your Wi-Fi network and go to tplinkwifi.net.
  2. Go to Advanced -> Network -> Internet.
  3. Under MAC Clone, open the dropdown next to Router MAC Address and select Clone Current Device MAC.
  4. Check if you can access the internet.

If you have just configured your new TP-Link router but can’t access the internet, ask your ISP to reset MAC. In fact, I spend hours trying to set up my TP-Link router but failed. Later, when I called the ISP, they reset the MAC and I was able to access the internet.

7. Reset Your Router

There might be something wrong with the router’s configurations. You can try resetting the router settings to their default values.

Note:
Resetting the router requires you to set up the router again from scratch. Make sure you know the internet connection details before going ahead.

To reset your TP-Link router, press and hold the reset button on the back side of the router using a pin for 10 seconds. Now, connect your computer or phone to the Wi-Fi network. You can find the password at the bottom of the router. Now, go to tplinkwifi.net and set up the device.

8. Contact Your ISP

Your Internet Service Provider (ISP) may be facing technical issues. When there are outages or technical issues, you are unlikely to access the internet. Contact your ISP to get the current status of your network.
