Steps to Fix Zoom Unable to Install Updates Error Code 10004

If Zoom keeps showing error code 10004, it means your Mac can’t automatically update the Zoom client. Here’s how you can throw this error out of your Mac.

Step 1: Uninstall Zoom

Don’t just download the latest version of Zoom and install it. It may not work. Instead, we’ll completely remove it from your Mac first and then reinstall it. Uninstall Zoom using menu bar:

  1. Open the Zoom app on your Mac.
  2. Select Zoom.us from the top menu bar.
  3. Tap on Uninstall Zoom.
  4. Click OK to confirm.

After removing Zoom, tap on the Apple icon in the top-left corner and select Restart.

Uninstall Zoom using Zoom Uninstaller:

  1. Open Finder on your Mac and click Applications from the left sidebar.
  2. Right click on Zoom.us and select Show Package Contents.
  3. Tap on Contents and click Frameworks.
  4. Double tap on ZoomUninstaller.
  5. Click OK to remove Zoom from your Mac.

Restart your Mac for complete removal of Zoom files.

Step 2: Install the Latest Version of Zoom

Once you have removed Zoom and restarted your Mac (important), the last step is to grab the latest version of Zoom. Visit Zoom download page and download the latest version of Zoom for your Mac. Install it and you should be able to use Zoom without any errors.
